Crispy Sesame Air Fryer Broccoli
This post is about crispy sesame air fryer broccoli
Are you looking for a delicious and easy air fryer broccoli recipe?! Whether you are an air fryer pro or this is your first time making air fryer broccoli you’ll love this crispy broccoli recipe. Serve as a healthy side dish or as an appetizer and I know it will be one of your go-to easy air fryer recipes!
I was inspired to make this when my son wanted Chinese takeout for his birthday dinner. I ordered beef and broccoli, requested extra broccoli and asked them to make it spicy (of course, duh!).
It was SO yummy and I immediately knew I wanted to replicate this at home. Using an air fryer is a great way to recreate a healthy version of this delicious side dish. My version uses less oil, but the air fryer cooking process gives it a crispy texture in less time without all that extra oil - you’ll think you’re eating takeout!
Additionally, you can use this same method for any air fryer roasted broccoli recipe. Changing up the flavors with ingredients like balsamic vinegar or parmesan cheese makes this basic recipe so versatile and perfect for so many broccoli side dish recipes.
Easy recipes and main dishes to serve with Crispy Sesame Air Fryer Broccoli
This recipe makes a great low carb side dish - serve alongside your favorite Asian inspired dinner recipes. I don’t eat carbs with dinner, but you could serve with a nice side of jasmine rice or cauliflower rice in addition to the main dish. Here are my recommendations:

Meal Prep Tips
This also makes a great meal prep veggie - it holds up great for 2-3 days in an airtight container in the fridge and can be easily reheated in the microwave or air fryer. If you have not been using your air fryer to reheat leftovers you are missing out! With a recipe like this, using the air fryer keeps the reheated broccoli crispy. I LOVE my toaster style air fryer for reheating food - for the best results, simply place your food in an oven safe pyrex or metal dish and place in the basket of the air fryer, then air fry at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
What are the best air fryers?
I personally love my toaster style air fryer. It has more space to spread food in a single layer and allow the hot air to circulate, it cooks quicker and I feel it gives food a slightly more crispy “fried” taste than the smaller, deeper baskets of other air fryers.
I have had this air fryer for a few years now and LOVE it. It is multi-functional, but I mainly use the air fryer or toasting features. I do leave it out on my counter, so if counter space is a challenge in your kitchen, then this is probably not the best choice.
I have the large digital version - but there is a smaller version here as well:
And I just purchased this air fryer for the lake house to save on counter space I used to lug my slow cooker or instant pot back and forth every summer and I keep an old smaller air fryer at the lake. I’ve been eyeing this one for a while due to the all- in- one features (saving me all that lugging around) and I’m excited to try it! It will store easily in the cabinet, as well:
