Hi - I’m Lilias!
I am a certified nutrition coach (NASM) and creator of the Feel Your Best Formula. I coach my clients using this simple step-by-step method for building a better relationship with food, the scale, and your body so you can build muscle, lose fat and maintain your results forever.
My Story
I originally started my career as a labor + delivery nurse working in some of the best teaching hospitals in the country. When my own children were born (only 18 months apart), I became a stay-at-home-Mom.
After the birth of my second son, I found myself struggling with my weight and self-care. I was out of shape and heavier than I had been at 9 months pregnant. I desperately wanted to feel like myself again!
This is where my journey began.
I started going to the gym, running and learning as much as I could about “clean eating”.
Over the years, I became more and more immersed in fitness and nutrition - even doing a few triathlons and becoming an online accountability coach.
When it came to nutrition I felt like I should always be on a diet. I was doing cleanses to “get back. on track”, and cycling through periods of being all or all out with my habits. I struggled with a restrict/binge-cycle and thought it was my fault for not being able to stick to the diets I was trying to follow.
The one thing I struggled with most was MAINTAINING weight loss. I gained and lost the same 10+ pounds too many times to count. I was really good at losing weight, but not so great at KEEPING it off.
Here I am in the pink shirt at my “goal weight” - starving myself on 1200-1500 calories per day while over exercising and struggling with a binge-restrict cycle. You can see I am skinny, with no muscle yet, I STILL felt I needed to lose another 10 pounds!
Would you guess I am 30 pounds HEAVIER in the photo on the right? This is me after learning how to nourish my body, build muscle and most importantly MAINTAIN my results.
What prompted this change? Well in 2021, I went through an incredibly stressful period as a caretaker for family members. After obsessing over dieting and working out for over a decade and always feeling like I was starting over, I had enough. The restrictive dieting was not sustainable, especially when going through personal struggles.
I realized there had to be a better way and my eyes were opened to the world of macros, strength training, and building an overall healthy lifestyle that I could actually stick to!
I spent the next 2 years working on my own goals, letting go of old thoughts and beliefs, and learning how to help other women make this shift.
In early 2023, I pivoted to focus specifically on nutrition coaching and absolutely love what I do! I help women let go of decades of diet culture and start healing the physical and mental damage that comes from years of dieting and chasing a lower number on the scale.
What I love most, is how quickly my clients start FEELING better - more energy, more confidence and less mental chatter when it comes to making food choices.
I think it’s pretty clear the old way of doing things do NOT work. Restrictive diets, spending hours doing cardio and trying to be our smallest selves is not serving us. Especially as we age. And as a woman in my late 40’s, I care way more about my long-term health than I do about having a 6-pack.
I know doing things differently can be scary - it takes courage to build a better relationship with food, the scale and your body. But I also know continuing to do the same things over and over and expecting a different result is a waste of time and energy.
I want everyone to feel the freedom, flexibility and peace that I have found with the Feel Your Best Formula.
My Values
As a coach, I am committed to being a voice of reason in a world where extreme health advice often dominates the conversation. I believe in promoting a balanced approach to wellness that respects your unique needs and rejects the extremes of both the fat acceptance movement and restrictive/fad dieting.
My approach is rooted in personalization, compassion, education, and empowerment. I guide my clients towards sustainable lifestyle changes that prioritize health without promoting harmful extremes.
