Basic Oatmeal Recipe in the Rice Cooker
This is the ONLY way I make oatmeal anymore! I bet you don’t think you need a rice cooker - and I didn’t either. But then my friend was cleaning out her kitchen and gave me hers for free - now, it is one of my most used countertop appliances. Of course, you can make rice + quinoa in it - but if you have not used your rice cooker for oatmeal, you are missing out! Check out the simple recipe below.

Rice Cooker Oatmeal

Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water
- pinch of salt
- unsweetened almond milk
Optional Toppings:
- sliced banana or strawberries
- 1 tsp nut butter
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Place oats, water, and salt in rice cooker and set to cook - walk away without worrying about boil over!
- Portion out 1/3 cup cooked oats, add unsweetened almond milk to hot oatmeal for desired consistency (about 1/4 cup).
- Add desired toppings and enjoy!
