Can you tell me about your story with health/wellness/weight loss? What have you tried in the past ?

I have never been really overweight and have worked out for many years but struggled with my nutrition and always felt like I would look and feel better if I lost a little weight. I'd been using Beachbody products and workouts for a long time. In the spring of 2020 I had been struggling to lose about 5-7 pounds for a number of months and nothing was working. I was using portion fix, Shakeology and was working out daily. I was becoming convinced that since I had turned 50 maybe it just was not possible for me to lose any weight. I tried 2B when it first came out with success but then stopped for some reason. Ilana's book had just come out and we were in full quarantine so it seemed like a good time to dive back in. I read the book, re-watched the videos and followed the program and the weight started dropping off.

How much weight have you lost with 2B Mindset and what prompted you to get started/commit?

I am actually down from my high point 14 pounds which on my 5'1 frame is a lot. I have not weighed this little or felt so good in my own skin since maybe when I got married 21 years ago. I have kept it off for over a year within a few pounds and I know this is a way I can happily eat forever.

Why do you feel the 2B Mindset program has been the key to your weight loss success?

I think it is a combination of things- the principals of the program- especially the veggies and water have been super important. But most important is the mindset piece- I'm not sure I can point to one thing but watching the 1:1's and the office hours over and over has been a game changer. Ilana just shares so many little tweaks and ways of looking at nutrition. Every time I watch a video I get something different out of it. I also like how simple it can be because I actually do not enjoy cooking so having simple healthy things I can make easily really appeals to me.

What aspect of the bootcamp has been most important to your success?

The community and the accountability. This is without a doubt the biggest thing for me. Having a community of people I can talk to about not just food and exercise but the ups and downs of my life and being able to be there for each other and support each other and cheer on successes and pick each other up after hard days- it's been amazing. Knowing I have you guys there to lean on and to hold me accountable is the real game changer.

Which products do you feel have helped you be successful and why?

Energize and Shakeology. Energize because- well I think that one is self explanatory and Shakeology because as I said- I don't like to cook and its such an easy healthy meal that I don't have to think about. I have it for breakfast most days but love that if things are really busy I can sub it in for lunch or dinner if I need to and stay on track.

If you had one piece of advice for someone getting started - what would it be?

Just start. Don't over complicate it. Start eating more veggies and drinking more water and weighing yourself everyday and the rest will come over time. And get a support group!
