A monthly reset routine is a great way to improve any area of your life! Whether you want to focus on a fresh start or simply want to keep building on your main goals, a monthly reset is an essential part of the process.
In this blog post I will walk you through a simple 4 step process on how to create the best monthly reset routine for organizing your life.
If you’ve been struggling with constantly feeling overwhelmed and playing catch up with all areas of your life, then a monthly reset can help you get back on track.
For the best results, I would not wait for the beginning of every month to do this monthly reset. Instead, I recommend scheduling your monthly reset planning for the end of the month. I normally set aside some time on the last weekend of the month.
This is the perfect time for a holistic monthly reflection on all areas of your life.
As a working mom, I use this time to re-prioritize and balance. Some months it feels like we are focusing only on personal goals and others it seems like work takes over our lives.
This is a great time to refocus and take control and set intentions for the next month.
If you’re just getting started with a monthly reset routine, I recommend scheduling about an hour to outline your plan for the upcoming month.
What you need to get started
Before getting started, it’s important to have everything you need at your fingertips. I recommend gathering your
monthly calendar
planner
A notebook or journal for taking notes.

Step 1
Once you have all your materials gathered, it’s time to do a brain dump. Write down all your goal ideas - personal growth, financial goals, physical and mental health, household projects, relationship goals, and more.
There are NO limits to this part of the exercise and I encourage you to be honest with yourself and write down anything and everything you think of during this part of the process.
Step 2
Now its time to set some new goals. Make sure you’re being realistic with the number of goals, time, energy and commitment level you are willing to devote to your monthly tasks.
Step 3
Create your to-do lists for the new month that are in alignment with your monthly goals.
A big part of your monthly reset routine is deciding what to keep, improve upon, or stop doing entirely on a daily basis. These daily actions are ALL connected to your larger monthly goals.
If you’re serious about hitting your goals as fast as possible I highly recommend reading the following books:
Step 4
Map out your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks using your calendar, planner, and to-do list system. I personally use Google calendar, the Full-Focus Planner, and Google tasks.
Do NOT skip this step - THIS is where the magic happens! Small daily actions lead up to BIG results and you must have the dedication to step outside of your comfort zone.
