A healthy chocolate dip that is also high in protein and chock full of healthy ingredients?! Yes, please!

This chocolate protein dip recipe is a healthier alternative for chocolate lovers when those cravings hit.

The Ingredients

One of my favorite things about this recipe is the versatility of ingredients and flavors. Use my recipe as a guide, but feel free to change things up in a way that works for you!

Protein Powder - obviously we want this dip to be a good source of protein, so I recommend using your favorite brand with at least 20 grams of protein per scoop of protein powder.

Make sure to use a protein powder with great flavor that you enjoy as a protein shake, because this will be the foundation for your dip. You can make a chocolate fruit dip using chocolate protein powder, but you could totally change things up and use any flavor protein powder that you like.

Peanut Butter Powder - I prefer a chocolate peanut butter dip, which is why I use peanut butter powder. I find the powdered peanut butter is easier to mix in the dip, but you could use regular peanut butter or almond butter. This will increase the fat and calories compared to powdered peanut butter, so keep that in mind if you’re tracking macros/calories.

Flax Seeds/Chia seeds - make sure you use ground flax seeds, not whole. Flax and chia are a great source of fiber and I promise you won’t even notice them once they are mixed in your dip.

Almond Milk - you can use any type of milk in this recipe. I would not recommend using water as you do want a creamy texture. Make sure to add your milk slowly while stirring and stop when you reach the desired consistency.

Chocolate Chips - I definitely recommend using chocolate chips as your add-in. They add a great flavor and extra crunch. You can use any chips you have on hand, mini-chips are a great option here!

Optional ingredients - you may want to add ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract, some coconut flakes, or even some cream cheese for a more cheesecake flavor.

There’s so many ways you can personalize this recipe depending what you like and what ingredients you have on hand!

How to serve your high protein chocolate dip

This healthy treat can be enjoyed in many ways. I love to serve it with fresh fruit as an afternoon snack or healthy dessert. You could also serve it with cinnamon pita chips, pretzels, or graham crackers.

It’s even a sweet treat on its own if you want to dig in with a spoon.

It only takes a few minutes to whip up and is a healthier alternative for when your sweet tooth cravings hit!

How to make high protein chocolate dip

This simple recipe doesn’t take much effort at all. You could certainly use a food processor or mixer if you like, but I just throw all the ingredients in a small bowl and stir with a fork until well combined.

If you don’t finish off the entire recipe in one sitting, you can store the leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the fridge.
