Easy Homemade Maple Pecan Granola
This maple pecan granola recipe is so much more than a snack…I originally made this as mason jar holiday gifts, but it is easily the BEST homemade granola recipe you will ever make and has been in regular rotation for my meal prep for years. If you have never made your own granola - now is the time!
Last year - my best friend (who lives on the other side of the country) suffered a personal tragedy and was heart broken. Not knowing what else to do - I sent her a batch of this and she said when she opened it, it was like receiving a “hug in the mail”. Food is truly my love language and how I express my love for my friends and family - if you’re the same way, I definitely recommend adding this to your repertoire!
One of my favorite things about homemade granola recipes is that you control the ingredients! You can easily make substitutions to suit your family’s tastes.
It is incredibly important to use REAL maple syrup in this recipe, but you could substitute coconut oil for the butter if you are dairy-free.
If coconut isn’t your thing, feel free to leave it out. You can get creative with your add-ins, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, or sunflower seeds can also be added to this basic recipe. If you wanted to add chocolate chips or make sure not to add them until the baked granola has cooled to room temperature.
You will need a nice, large bowl for mixing the ingredients. You want to make sure the dry ingredients are mixed thoroughly before stirring in the butter/syrup wet ingredients to the mixture.
Make sure to use a parchment lined baking sheet. The parchment paper will help create perfectly browned granola without making a sticky mess.
Once you make this, I guarantee it will be your favorite granola recipe! You can serve it so many ways.
Serve over ice cream or Greek yogurt. Enjoy alone as a snack or make it your favorite breakfast with some milk. There are so many ways to enjoy this. I love to give this as a nice holiday gift for co-workers and friends.
